FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When is the Festival on?
The Future Wave Film Festival will take place on October 2nd, 3rd & 4th.

Where will it take place?
The Selected films will be screened in Filmbase, Temple Bar, Dublin. The Awards night will take place in the same venue on the final night.

Who can submit a film for consideration?
Any student within the island of Ireland who is currently studying for a Level 5 or Level 6 QQF Award. Students who have completed a Level 5 or Level 6 QQF Award in the past two years can also submit any project they completed as part of those awards.

Any student who is currently a second level student.

How do I submit a film/project?
Simply fill in the application form and send it to us. You will then be sent a link for uploading your film.

What file type should I use to upload my film/project?
You should use .mov or .mp4 only. The file size should not exceed 1GB.

When will I know if my project has been selected?
The selection committee will make their decision on April 18th and you will be notified thereafter.

What happens if my film is selected?

Your film is listed in the Festival’s competitive programme.

Your film competes with the other selected titles for an award in it's category.

Your film is listed in our Video Library.

You receive a personal invitation to the Festival, including:

2 free passes for:

- Full Festival access

- All Festival screenings

What happens if my film is not selected?

Your film is listed in our Video Library.

You receive 2 free passes for:

- Full Festival access

- All Festival screenings
